Schenectady County, New York (August 24, 2021)-A couple exploded at their home on Sacandaga Road. The two were identified as Rick Zahner and Cheryl Zahner.

Police officials in Glenville said the explosion occurred on Sunday. Rick Zahner and Cheryl Zahner were at home when the propane dryer in or near the basement exploded.

The force of the explosion was so violent that it blew up a large part of the house. This also makes the house structurally unsafe. Unfortunately, according to the city regulator, the house may need to be demolished.

Rick Zahner and Cheryl Zahner were taken to the hospital for treatment on Sunday. Miraculously, they were able to walk out of the hospital on Monday.

Investigators believe that a propane dryer is likely to be the source of the explosion. But it has not yet been confirmed. A full investigation is needed, but the structural instability of the house makes the investigation difficult.
