XMG has announced an updated revision of the XMG OASIS, the first version of which we reviewed earlier this year with the XMG NEO 15. While we noted that the original XMG OASIS worked well and we liked the company's desire to experiment, we found that it only offered performance benefits under rare circumstances. Specifically, the XMG OASIS was handy for when extreme load saturated the stock heatsink.

According to XMG, the OASIS (Rev.2) features a few upgrades, such as thumb screws for a tool-free assembly. Additionally, the company has included revised tubes with a slightly ribbed texture to improve grip when connecting the unit to a laptop, as well as more robust tube connections. Previously, XMG built these connections using PC+ABS (polycarbonates + acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer), which it has now switched out for POM (polyoxymethylene). Supposedly, the switch will make the connections more durable and torsion-resistant.

Moreover, XMG has overhauled the OASIS' side panels and claims to have slightly reduced vibrations by optimising the insulation surrounding the pump. Apparently, the OASIS (Rev.2) can be distinguished from its predecessor by the XMG branding on the top of their enclosures. Furthermore, XMG has expanded compatibility to the CORE 15 (M22), an AMD Ryzen and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060-powered machine. The XMG OASIS (Rev.2) sells for €199 in the Eurozone and has been shipping with compatible CORE and NEO laptops 'for several weeks'.
