Look, this is the hardest grade to give out. If Rashawn Slater did not rupture his bicep tendon against the Jacksonville Jaguars then Salyer would have been in a different category on this report card. That being said, Salyer has started one game for the Chargers and in that one game, it was really hard not to love what he did.

Salyer stepped in at the left tackle spot despite being drafted to be a guard at the NFL level. Salyer played tackle at Georgia but because of his size and profile, many NFL scouts projected that he would move to the inside at the next level.

That includes the Chargers, who essentially made him the team's swing guard this season. However, with Storm Norton being as awful as he was, the Bolts had no choice but to give Salyer a chance and the chance paid off. Salyer had a fantastic game against a decent Texans defense in which he did not allow a single pressure.

Now that is just one game and Salyer might be getting a much bigger test in Week 5 against the Browns. I would not expect every game to go like it did in Week 4 for the rookie and there definitely are going to be learning curves.

However, his ability to step up and start at a position in the NFL that he was not even practicing in before Week 4 is a massive testament to how talented he is and the future he could have. This grade could go down as the year goes along, but as it stands right now, Chargers fans have to be stoked about Salyer's future on the team.
