We are just 23 days away from the start the 2022 season. Today we take a look at the active leader in interceptions, Jaylin Williams.

Jaylin Williams enters his fifth season with the Hoosiers. He came to Bloomington from Memphis, Tennessee and has played 44 games in his Hoosier career.

Williams played and contributed early and often at IU. He is IU’s active leader in interceptions with six. Last season, Williams was an All-Big Ten honorable mention after making 41 tackles and breaking up 11 passes.

“Jaylin has been here for almost five years now. He is a guy that maturity wise continues to grow.” Brandy Shelby said. “He has come a long way. Last year he had to take on that kind of role because we were so injured. You guys probably do not know this, but we were sometimes going into games knowing that we had two guys. Period. There were games where he was going 80-something snaps with cracked ribs. He would not pull himself out.”

Williams is going to be a key part to a veteran secondary that will anchor IU’s defense.
